Junior

O cantor filipino chamado Junior (Manila, Filipinas - 10 de setembro de 1943), cujo verdadeiro nome é Antonio Morales Junior, se tornou conhecido mundialmente a partir de 1974, quando gravou a canção "Excuse Me", versão em inglês da música "Perdoname" letra original da dupla de compositores espanhóis A. Morales e Snapier Bell. Junior a gravou em inglês, pela RCA, de certa forma, seguindo uma tendência muito em voga na época, em que artistas de outros países estavam fazendo sucesso com canções cantadas na lingua inglesa. A canção "Excuse Me" só fez sucesso aqui no Brasil, principalmente sua versão em inglês, talvez embalada pela onda dos sucessos de artistas como Morris Albert, Chrystian, Dave MacLean e outros brasileiros que estavam estourados nas rádios com hits na lingua de Tio Sam. No Brasil, Junior fez sucesso com apenas duas canções: a citada "Excuse Me", em 1974, e também a balada "Give A Second Chance", música que fez parte da trilha sonora da novela global "Anjo Mau" de 1976. O único LP do cantor lançado no Brasil em 1974, trazia como título o seu maior sucesso, "Excuse Me". Neste álbum há uma curiosa versão em inglês do clássico de Dolores Duran, "A Noite Do Meu Bem", cuja versão recebeu o título de "Morning". (vide a contracapa do disco, abaixo). Entre 1974 e 1976, o cantor teve grande destaque nas paradas de sucesso do Brasil. Junior nunca mais conseguiu repetir o grande êxito da balada "Excuse me", porém, até os dias de hoje, esta canção ainda é bastante executada pelas rádios, principalmente em programas de Flash-Backs, confirmando assim a beleza e genialidade de uma das mais pungentes canções românticas que um artista já mostrou para o mundo.

Information Society

Information Society

Information Society é uma banda de origem norte-americana, tendo sido oficialmente formada no final de 1981 na cidade de Minneapolis com a união de três músicos e amigos de colegial: Paul Robb, Kurt Harland e James Cassidy. Cinco anos mais tarde Amanda Kramer entrou para o grupo, mas saiu dois anos depois. O grupo recebe influências de vários gêneros musicais, porém com maior destaque para a música eletrônica das discotecas dos anos 80. Tornou-se conhecida mundialmente pela música Running em 1985.
Entre 1987 e 1988, a banda começou a ganhar maior destaque nos Estados Unidos e Japão, mas especialmente no Brasil, onde o grupo tornou-se um grande sucesso até o desmanche dos membros originais em 1993.
Na novela Deus nos acuda, realizada pela Rede Globo, a música Cry Baby da banda fez parte da trilha sonora.
Devido a uma série de desentendimentos entre os três membros, Paul e James saíram da banda em 1993 para construir outras carreiras fora da indústria musical, deixando assim Kurt com os direitos e nome da banda. Ele chegou a fazer um álbum solo em 1997 denominado "Don't be Afraid"
Recentemente, os velhos integrantes, Paul Robb, Kurt Harland e James Cassidy, discutiram o retorno da banda. Kurt Harland, por motivos pessoais, teve de desligar-se do possível retorno do grupo, passando os direitos desta para Paul. Outros dois nomes surgiram então: Christopher Anton e Sonja Myers. O novo grupo, formado por Paul, James, Christopher e Sonja, veio ao Brasil em Agosto de 2006 para um show de flash-back e já anunciou um álbum para 2007.

Connie Francis (12/12/38 - Newark - New-Jersey) é uma popular cantora americana, conhecida pelo sucesso das canções "Who's Sorry Now?","Where The Boys Are" e "Everybody's Somebody Fool".
Concetta Rosa Maria Franconero adotou o nome artístico de Connie Francis e é considerada a mais atuante cantora de rock 'n' roll desde o início (final do anos 50 e início dos anos 60).
Sua primeira canção "Freddy" (1955) fez pouco sucesso e como as outras canções lançadas após também não fizeram muito sucesso, ela considerou deixar a carreira de cantora para tentar a carreira de médica, mas a versão cover da canção "Who's Sorry Now?" lançou Connie como cantora mundialmente.
Seria a última canção lançada pelo selo MGM, já que não seria renovado o contrato devido ao pouco sucesso das canções anteriores. A canção foi gravada por sugestão de seu pai, mas com uma batida diferente para que agradasse aos adolescentes. Em janeiro de 1958, Connie cantou a canção no programa "Dick Clark's American Bandstand" e no meio do ano já tinham sido vendidas um milhão de cópias, sendo que em Abril alcançava o primeiro lugar na "UK Singles Chart". Seguiu-se outros grandes sucessos e Connie transformou-se em uma cantora conhecida mundialmente.
Ela se especializou em regravar baladas antigas como "My Happiness", "I'm Sorry I Made You Cry", "Among My Souvenirs", "Together", "Breakin' In a Brand New Broken Heart", e a canção italiana "Mama", mas dando a elas seu toque pessoal. Entretanto também houveram os sucessos como "Stupid Cupid", "Lipstick On Your Collar" e "Vacation". Outros desempenhos notáveis foram "In the Summer of His Years" (um tribute para o Presidente John F. Kennedy) e a música de Bert Kaempfert, "Strangers In The Night" (que ficou mais conhecida na versão de Frank Sinatra). "Everybody's Somebody's Fool" e "My Heart Has a Mind of Its Own" chegaram ao primeiro lugar na Billboard em 1960. Em 1962, outro hit número 1, "Don't Break the Heart That Loves You".
Connie gravou suas músicas em várias línguas diferentes, Inglês, Sueco, Alemão, Francês, Espanhol, Português, Italiano (e no dialeto Napolitano), Hebraico, Iidich, Japonês, Latim e Havaiano.
